(How To Lower Your Water Bill And Start Saving Today )

Everyone is looking to save money these days. There are many ways you can cut down on expenses one of them is your water usage. These 3 simple tips will help you cut down on your water bill and save some green:
Baths vs. Showers:
Generally a shower uses lot less water than a bath. How much less? You will use only about a third of water when taking a shower instead of bath. So if you can, cut out baths completely. You can also shut off the water while you shampoo or shave. Another great tip is to install a low-flow shower heads. They use much less water than traditional shower heads.

Dishwasher vs Handwash:
Are you washing dishes by hand? Washing dishes by hand uses much more water than using a dishwasher. The Bonn study proves that the dishwasher uses only half the energy and one-sixth of the water than handwashing. Bonus, less soap too. Even the most sparing and careful washers could not beat the modern dishwasher.
Laundry/Washing Machine:
To cut down on the water used try to do a wash with full loads. If you are in the market for a new machine, go fron load. Fron loading wahsers may cost a bit more, but they are more water and energy efficient.  The increased capacity means fewer loads of laundry.  Less water is used, so there is less water to heat.  And, the higher speed spin cycle removes more water, easing the dryer’s work load, as well.  A family of four can save 1,000 gallons a month.
One last tip. Check for leaky faucets, toilets or pipes. A leaky toilet can waste gallons of water daily. Contact a licensed plumber to check the pipes in your house if you suspect leaks.
